Old MD 2 Unlock problems - HELP PLEASE!

Hi, I have an old ZTE MD 2 clamshell phone that I wish to unlock. I have the DC unlocker but it tells me the card can't be found.

The instructions say For correct ZTE modem detection, . . . Wait till software starts the modem, close ZTE software and then you can detect modem with DC-Unlocker.

Problem is I don't have the software any more as phone is so old and I can't find it online ANYWHERE! I have modem software but not the actual ZTE phone software and when I plug it in, nothing comes up??

According to the pc i have a 'Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM' unspecified device installed but I can't do anything with it??

have I missed something simple?? Please help if possible

Please try to detect it as ZTE Phones, not ZTE modems and copy here what is detected.

I have now managed to find the really old software disc that came with the phone but it doesn't seem to be helping??

It does not matter if the SIM card is inserted or not for phones to detect.

I get this message both with my invalid sim and the original correct netwwork sim. (although the original sim is so old it no longer works??)

Make sure drivers are installed.
Connect phone to USB port which is directly to motherboard.
Connect phone to other USB port.
Turn off phone software (PC suite).
Try restarting your phone.
Try restarting your computer.
Try other computer.

Grrrr I think its the drivers, although I can't get them installed?

The PC won't do it automatically and when I go to control panel

and try to do it manually it says it cant find drivers even tho I know
they are in the folder on the software disc??

Then sorry, if the drivers cannot be installed and phone cannot be detected with DC-Unlocker, we will not be able to help you.
