  • Switching Between Modes

I have a ZTE 7.2 Mega Bits Per Second HSDA modem as well as a Nokia 3G {HSDPA enabled , 7 Mbps Downlink} Phone

My query is that :When I want to surf the Internet I put my Phone On 2g Mode
{Not Dual , Not 3g , Not UMTS , But Simple Plain 2g mode } , I connect and I start to browse a Web Page .After 1 minutes What I do Is Put My Phone On Dual Mode {or 3g enabled},and my speed increase and I surf the Internet swiftly.
Now My query is that how do I do this thing In MY ZTE Modem .. I want to connect It On 2G mode and then after sometime I want to force/enable 3g mode without disconnecting .
In hauwei modems The Network settings get locked while connected , and If I select 3g preferred then It Selects 3g mode while connecting ..
So cannot do It in Hauwei .
Same Is the case with ZTE ...
The network setting option seem to go into critical section once we establish a connection ..
Even if I select 3g preferred It goes into 3g connection at start which I do not want .
If I select 2g connection then It goes Into 2g connection which I want ., But how Do I Instruct my modem to NOW WITHIN CONNECTION SESSION TO SWITCH INTO 3G MODE ..
I know there must a method to do this .
If Not so smart Nokia Phone can do this why cannot a modem do this ??

I too want to know the solution. What he means to say is that if we can manually change from 2g to 3g network while still connected to the internet. May be we can use some AT commands to do that. Please help us Mr.vincentas..
