  • ZTE MF62: not found

The MF62 (branded by BOOST in Australia) only shows up via USB as a mass storage device (i.e. the MicroSD card). It can only connect clients to the net via WiFi.
There is no internal storage device with Windows/Mac drivers: the manual says USB network connections are simply not supported.

I presume this means that there's no hope of DC-unlocker ever supporting it?

Just to be complete I put a foreign SIM in it and the behaviour was the same.

No, sorry. Modems that appear in computer as USB storage device only are not supported and cannot be unlocked with DC-Unlocker. We have similar modem here with us, but we need to work more on it to try to make it supported.

So now that the MF62 is listed in the supported models for the latest version, what magic is involved to get DC-Unlocker to recognise it?

      "modem not found !"

I have a SIM in there bringing up "SIM Lock" status, but what else do I need to do? Obviously there is no software/driver to install (as one would with modems).

Well, these modems are different from the ones that are supported by DC-Unlocker.
The ones, that appear as USB mass storage device cannot be detected and so cannot be unlocked with DC-Unlocker.

So why in the V1.00.0828 update does it list the ZTE MF62 as a supported router? This IS the device I have.

The device that is supported 0828 version is modem, not the device that appears as USB mass storage device in computer and actually is a donor "box" of the Wifi connection to other devices.

The MF62 is a router. In the 0828 documentation it says:
              Routers:
              ZTE MF62
              ZTE PHS300
I have a ZTE MF62. How do I get DC-unlocker to work on it?

              Thanks

OK, sorry, I was talking about router, not modem.
Anyway, the answer is the same:

In short, DC-Unlocker can unlock only MF62 routers which appear as modem in computer.

I wasn't aware there were versions of the MF62 that were this-dramatically different in operation. I would have thought that would have a different model ID.
