Hi,
I have four ZTE MF636 dongles branded BT. They are unlocked, but I'm having problems with changing the firmware. The BT autorun connection manager won't work with sim cards other than their own or their roaming partners (at roaming prices). With a number of connection managers the dongles work with both Irish o2 & meteor sim cards. However, what I really want to achieve is to endow these dongles with a connection manager that autoruns when placed in a new computer allowing me to use any sim card off my choice. What are the in and outs of this type of operation? I know there is no generic firmware for this model.
I have tried flashing a number of different firmware versions from various sources: FIDO_CA_P673M2V1.0.0B08 BD_3AT673M2V1.0.0B03
which usually don't get past a 'waiting' notice even if left for hours. If I press the 'start update', 'download' or whatever button I usually end up with an error message saying "the version is not matching, can not use this software!" or or something else to that effect. I did manage to get the Telstra upgrade on this website to flash it, but with these dongles while they are detected they can find no networks & do not recognise sims unlike the other two unflashed ones. Trying to change the firmware on these two bigger problem dongles brings the same response from the different updater sources. If I run them through dc-unlocker
The original BT firmware was
BT_UK_P673M2F2V1.0.0B04 or
BD_BT673M2F2V1.0.0B01, 1.9.91.0,
depending on which firmware Update I try to use. I can't find it for download anywhere on the internet.
Do you have any pointers on how to proceed?
