  • Error connecting to server !

    Hi,

I bought credits at 11:43GMT and checked with dc-unlocker client 1 minute later. The credits appeared okay. But then another 1 minute later dc-unlocker client reports:

    Error connecting to server !

This has happened continuously for the last 1 hour. Please help.

    Jonty

    ---

    dc-unlocker client version: 1.00.0287

Username and password have been cut-and-paste, not typed by hand.

Firewall not in the way as this tcpdump shows:

    12:34:23.698469 IP ........<mss 1260,nop,nop,sackOK>

    Hi jonty,

Do you have an active internet connection, not using the modem you are trying to unlock.

Server blocked connection from you, because of you use process explorer. Now unblocked, please close all similar software (monitoring, sniffing and etc) before do connection.

        Hi Arunas,

Thanks for your help. I am a developer and network administrator so I run a lot of monitoring tools on my personal machine.

Are there any other programs that dc-unlocker checks for, apart from Proces***plorer ?

        Thanks
        Jonty

          Hello again Arunas,

I booted my machine clean and stopped Proces***plorer. dc-unlocker worked and now my modem is ready to go. Thanks for that.

As a professional developer I can understand why you want to stop people snooping on your code. But as a professional developer I believe you should help your paying customers, not hinder them.

Your error message "Error connecting to server !" has just cost me 2 hours of paid work. If it had said "Stop Process Explorer before unlocking" it would have taken 5 minutes to sort out.

2 hours of my time is worth a lot more than the 15 euros I just paid to unlock a modem. My boss already thinks your service looks dodgy. After I fill in my timesheet for today he will probably ban me from using it ever again.

          Jonty

I'm sorry for your time. Normally 99% of users don not have this software (or other similar) installed and not have this problem. This is automatic block after few times detected (not from first ).
And to solve problems we have live support chat. 9-17 GMT . If users have problems or questions, recommendations and etc. all welcome to live support chat. We can solve, or try help in minutes.

              Error connecting to server!

hi I just purchased my first credits

I receive the error: Error connecting to server!

I am connected to the internet through ADSL (through the company network)

I have switched off my firewall

I am not running process explorer

Is there a port that needs to be opened on our ISA server?
