I have tried the following Using Windows XP and E5380 from 3
    1. Installed DC-Unlcoker V1.00.0384
    2 remove sim from E5830
3 connect E5830 to PC USB Port
    4. run DC-Unlocker software to detect E5830

It then cant see the card
I selected Huawei Datacards and Auto Detect

    It states Card Not Found

I checked in device manager and can see the following

HUAWEI Mobile Connect - 3G Network Card
I have tried to detect with both this disabled and enbaled still cant see the card.

    Under Ports I see

HUAWEI Mobiel Connect - 3G Application Interface (COM 7)
HUAWEI Mobiel Connect - 3G PC UI Interface (COM 8)

I have also tried detect ing manualy selecting the card using the above com settings but the card is still not detected.

Am I doing anything wrong, any one help me unlock the card

    Thanks

you do everything ok, just need to be sure modem is not busy and wifi manager is closed (check in processes too).
Network adapter not effect for detect, just it can take internet connection and may you dont have internet. In this case you need disable it.

I'm having exactly the same problem as the OP. 3 modem, using Win 7. Have tried the above but it still doesn't recognise the device.

          Same result on Vista 64.

I will try XP later on my home machine and let you know if that solves it.

Finally recognised and unlocked on Win 7. Just kept trying repeatedly and eventually it worked (although I had about 6 different error codes in the process)!

            Thanks

              E5832

              Hello,

I have the same problrm, but it seems to be worse, because neither Windows in unable to see my device (E5832 from Orange France).

I've tried on 3 different computers (Windows XP, Vista and 7), and none of them is able to see the modem. It just shows it as a removable media, install the drivers (just the "Huawei Connect - 3G PC UI Interface"), but not the "Huawei Mobile Connect - 3G Modem"... and that's why I think that any software (Mobile Partner, or DC Unlocker) is able to recongnize my modem !

I think that Orange France made a mistake with the drivers installed on the device.

So what can I do ? How could I obtain the "generic" drivers for my E5832 ? I've searched them on Internet, but I didn't found anything.

              Thanks +++

Yes, you are right. Problem is that you do not see Huawei Mobile Connect - 3G Modem in device manager. You can try disconencting the modem and connecting again. Try this few times, untill you see modem in device manager.Try restarting computer.

                  Help : E5830 Cant Detect in DC-Unlocker

I too have had problems in recognizing the huawei mifi e5830 (3UK Network)with dc-unlocker...
Note that modem was installed correctly, with all two com-ports.
Dc-unlocker refused auto-detect, and if I set manually the right com-ports nothing changed.
...and moreover often dc-unlocker program would freeze during auto-detect huawei device.
Problem solved with temporary closure of the interent-wifi connection of PC.

In fact, there is no dashboard installed on the modem (the software Orange Internet Everywhere, that comes with the other modems and which installation starts automatically when you plug it on USB).

On my 3 computers, when I plug the E5832 to the USB port, an autorun starts and installs some drivers (in the directory C:/Program Files/Driver), the modem is then recongnized as an external storage support, and that's all !

Since 2 days I've tried everything on these 3 computers : restarting, installing Mobile Partner, installing Orange Internet Everywhere (from their website), going in the Device manager and trying to add manually a new device (by selecting the drivers that were installed automatically in Program Files), but nothing works ! The "Huawei Mobile Connect - 3G Modem" never gets installed.

I'm really mad. Today I've unlocked an Huawei E1752 (with DC Unlocker, of course) and everything worked perfectly. But for this E5832, I really don't know what to do anymore.

I had all these problems and solved everything by turning off the wifi access of my laptop.
i connected it to the network via a usb cable
                      rebooted
plugged in the e5830 (remember to switch is on first)
let it run through all driver setup
then run dcunlocker, pressed detect, and it found it!

I have 2 desktop computers (under XP and 7), so I don't have WiFi on them.

I've also tried to disable my Network acces card (LAN) and to reboot, after that the E5832 drivers are being installed again... but just the ones for Mass storage USB Device and Huawei Connect - 3G Application Interface (COM7) ! No way to obtain the 3G Modem driver !

                          Some suggestions,
                          1. Is the modem switched on when you plug it in ?
If you switch the on switch for 2 seconds you should see all the lights flash a bit, then the battery light remain on with the signal light flickering red. Plug in at this point, before the lights switch off.

                          2. Are you using usb ports directly on the motherboard rather then hubs ?

                          3. You should use a different usb port between each attempt (as the computer re_establishes ids)

                          4. Make sure you have no other connectivity software running, e.g. Nokia ovi suite, samsung pc suite, etc. You might even want to uninstall these as they have modem drivers.

                          5. Are you absolutely sure there are no other connectivity programs running or drivers ? Inc. Wifi and virtual drivers

                          6. Make sure any firewall or spywear program is switched off

                          7. Lastly, make sure you can connect with the e5830 software first (although this should not be running at the same time as dc-unlocker)

I used win xp, not 7. It work on my 5th attempt (I rebooted between) only after disabling the wifi network in control panel. I know you don't have wifi, but I would check networks in the control panel to make sure there is no virtual driver. If you find one disable it (except for the wired lan driver which you can keep)

                          Best of luck

Yes, it was switched on, and I also did what you say.

This morning (during 3 hours) I took my old laptop with Windows XP, on which I don't have any PC Suite or even antivirus installed ; also, it doesn't have built-in WiFi (I use a PCMCIA card for WiFi), so I unplug this PCMCIA card, and I also disabled the LAN adapter and the built-in modem in the Device Manager, then restarted, and then I plugged-in the E5832.

And the results are (I spend 3 hours on that) : I'm quite sure that the drivers provided by Orange (the one that are installed on the modem) are wrong !!

When I connect the card, Windows installs the Mass Storage USB Device driver, then I get an Autolaunch who wants to install the Huawei Drivers. OK, I accept, it installs everything in C:/Program Files/Driver. After that, Windows detects the Huawei Connect device, and installs some drivers for it, like Huawei Connect - 3G Application Interface, and says that I have to reboot. that's what I did, and again the same result : everything is installed, but not the Huawei 3G Modem driver.

So I went into C:/Program Files/Driver/WinXP to see the content of the INI driver files... and surprise : I see that in most of that files (like ewser2k.inf, ewusbnet.inf ...) my device ID (that is USB\VID_12d1&PID_1401&MI_01, I saw that in the Device manager, from the COM Port Huawei) is not included !

So I decided to add it manually... and miracle, when I tried to update the driver that were installed for the Huawei COM Port, now I can choose in the list the Huawei 3G Modem driver ! But there still a problem : if I install the Modem driver then the COM port disapears and I can't get it back, and if I install the COM port, the Modem Driver is gone. In conclusion, I can't get to have both COM port and Modem driver.

So I've tried this during 3 hours, with many reboots, reinstallations & stuff, and nothing. I can't get to have both COM Driver and Modem driver working at the same time. So I really think that the drivers installed by Orange on this device are wrong !

Now, the only solution is that someone could copy the drivers included on his device - the autorun file (I have an E5832, but I think that the ones for E5830 shoud work too, no ?) and post them here. I really don't see another solution, I really tested everything and I'm really pretty sure that I have the wrong drivers.

I can't neither. First of all, Orange didn't provided on this key their Orange Internet Everywhere software (like they do on all other USB modems). So I've downloaded it from their website, but it can't detect my modem neither.

So I called them this morning... an their answer was : it's a WiFi modem, why do you want to connect it on USB ? You have to use WiFi, so you should buy a WiFi dongle for your desktop computer ! Marvellous !
