  • Vodafone K3520 (Huawei) vs. K3520-Z (ZTE)

Ordered a Huawei K3520 through Vodafone, because it depends (here on the forums) this one was factory unlocked.
The Generic Dashboard went well on my Windows XP 64bit core OS, with a VMware XP Pro 32bit Virtual Machine on it. (tested it before with a K3520)

Today I received my order, and it seems I wasn't able to get the status out of the card with DC-unlocker.

    On the forums:

I read: "Insert the locked sim in to the modem and select the ZTE as manufacturer and detect the modem."

There I realized I didn't received a Huawei but ZTE. I'm very disappointed with the Generic Dashboard and "support" here in the scene.

They advertised with a Huawei K3520 (also on the Vodafone invoice).
I have seven days for free of charge change.

Is manufacturer Huawei linked with manufacturer ZTE? Why does Vodafone sell 2 of the same modelnumbers (K3520 and K3520-Z)? Is that because these DataCards are "custommade" for vodafone?

Are you sure it is not a Huawei but ZTE? Could you try to detect as huawei?
If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the connection for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version.

I'm 100% for sure, it's even printed on the back of the USB-stick near the IMEI and Serialnumber that ZTE is the Manufacturer.

Could you try to detect as huawei?
Yeah, was possible, but got immediately: SIM Lock status : Unknown, When select ZTE, I directly got the right information.

They are completely modems and the -Z one is inferior. You should definitely return it and get a genuine K3520/E169.

          My post should say
They are completely different modems and the -Z one is inferior. You should definitely return it and get a genuine K3520/E169.
. I don't see an Edit button. Also, it is just my opinion about superiority and I don't base it on too much knowledge.
