  • Error SIM/USIM not detected or invalid - Unlocked E392 / E392u-12

    Hello.

I have a HUAWEI device that has both E392 and E392u-12 written on it. I wanted to unlock the device to be able to run SIMs from any provider on it, and I verified it is in your list of supported devices.

I downloaded your unlocker tool named "dc-unlocker2client_1.00.1277.zip", and finished the unlock process successfully on first attempt, using option "Read Unlock code and auto enter to modem". I think I did the unlock without any SIM inside.

Next I tried connecting the device using both its built-in connection tool, and your connection tool named "HUAWEI_DataCard_ClientSoftware_UTPS_23.009.09.00.9 83.zip". Both tools are giving the error "The SIM/USIM card has not been detected or is invalid.", screenshot attached.

The SIM seems properly placed inside, although I wish one tool or the other can technically verify the presence of the SIM. I have another SIM that belongs to the same provider of the device, that other SIM is detectable on both tools. I'm also attaching current output coming from unlocker tool, which indicates device is unlocked.

I hope you can help me out in resolving my issue. Forward thanks.

I don't understand, is what you are asking for different from the .txt file I previously attached? May you please explain to me what did I miss. Thanks.

If device is detected as unlocked while invalid operator sim is inserted means it is not locked. I suggest to uninstall devices original dashboard from pc, then reconnect modem to computer and then launch mobile partner, otherwise check connectivity via windows dial-up.

I'll quote and rephrase to make sure I'm understanding correctly, I will also state my latest actions:

If device is detected as unlocked while invalid operator sim is inserted means it is not locked.
          • I connected the device with the non-original provider SIMinside. The original provider tool was auto-started as expected. It gave the "No SIM" error as expected.
          • I closed the original provider tool.
          • I started DC Unlocker Client and ran the detect. It gave output including the following line: "SIM Lock status : unlocked". I assume this output means I should do your next quote.
I suggest to uninstall devices original dashboard from pc, then reconnect modem to computer and then launch mobile partner,
          • I uninstalled the original provider tool using Windows Control Panel.
          • I connected the device with the non-original provider SIM inside. Auto-run showed up. I refused auto-run as it seemed it was trying to install the original provider tool.
          • I ran Mobile Partner. It behaves as if no device is connected. I also tried run-as-admin.
I hope I understood and done your instructions correctly

Sadly though, doesn't seem it worked

otherwise check connectivity via windows dial-up.
Regarding dial-up, I never created one myself, I just tried to do so on my Windows 7 and it seems to be requesting me for 3 data fields:
          • Dial-up phone number.
          • User name.
          • Password.
I think I have the first one but I'm not sure. I have no clue about the second and third.

Am I accessing the right Windows interface? Is there some guide somewhere about doing dial-up for such devices? About the fields, are these things I get from the provider or can I find them elsewhere?

Thanks you very much for follow-up, sorry for long response.

For starters, device will not be found in the dial-up menu unless the original provider tool was installed.

After figuring that, the connection just keeps failing to connect on error 692 (attached).

I've googled it and didn't manage to figure something useful, here's what I have:
              • I felt maybe *99# was not the number for my provider, but this link (plus third & fourth below) discuss my providers and seem to confirm the correctness of this number choice.
              • Some places are talking about inserting APN, like this how-to, as well as these two pages (first and second), but how to know what's my APN? I tried inquiring the provider but they seem clueless on it. I found some resources (third, fourth and fifth) but didn't figure how to benefit from them.
              • Somewhere I read about inserting the PIN, though I lost the page by now, sadly.
              What could be the problem?

Sorry, we do not provide modem configuration and do not know all apn and and other connection settings. These settings you should get from your provider or in provider web page.
Which mobile partner version did you test? Maybe it is too old for your modem.

Under what sections in device manager you can see your modem?
