ok but now my e160 is not recognized on vista, not detected in mobile partner, not detected in dc unlocked, i have all desinstalled and reinstalled and is a same.

i can't dowload firmware because my key is not detected.

where can i found driver for my key, please ?

my key is out ?

Voice activation or those commands not damage modem !!
After sending commands is possible, that modem will ask you drivers again, or after enabling CD maybe need install software from CD .
As i write ain first message, this free testing for advanced users only, to do this, you must know what is drivers, device manager, at commands, hyper terminal and buggy windows.

because i have same probleme, my e160 is not detected.

i have download version 412 but is a same, unlock and voice actived is grayed and card is not found

I now have problem of dead modem.
I did the update which seem to go smoothly It then did restore user settings going fine until reached 100% then it froze on me I left it forabout 15 minutes but nothing happend and saw that in device showed as unknown device.
Now not seen by PC so cant do anything with it,.
Is there any program that can force flash the e160g or should I just Bury it

After posting the above I left it for 10 minutes and then tried modem in different USB port and it was seen and successfully activated Voice in version 412 although v411 reported card not found.

i have tested command AT^U2DIAG=276 in the console terminal and now dc unlcoked detect nothing

Tested on 3 different E160

The SD and NAND were detected again using AT^U2DIAG=276 in the beta console window.

Any reason to have this function so that it can be turned off as well as on?

Same as previous poster too, I would like a way to update the NAND with newer Mobile Partner, unless anyone knows a dashboard update that will do this?

Voice mode worked, AT^U2DIAG=276 restored CD and SD and kept voice.

Now the remaining question is how to update the CD so that the voice version of Mobile Partner gets loaded automatically?

Yes password is different for every modem, if you unlocked modem with dc unlocker, you can generate is for free.

Hope this helps peeps who don't know AT sending.

Note: Windows Vista does not have HyperTerminal!

1) Click Start > Run > Type hypertrm > [Enter]
2) In the window that opens type any friendly name e.g. 3G Huawei > [OK]
3) Keep the default values, except Connect Using where you must select your modem > [OK]
4) click [Modify] > [Settings] > [ASCII Setup]
5) Tick 'Echo typed characters locally' > [OK] > [OK] > [Cancel]
6) In the main HyperTerminal Window type AT^U2DIAG=256
(or AT^U2DIAG=276 or AT^U2DIAG=255)
7) [Enter]


Note: If you have connection problems (ie. you don't see OK after pressing enter to send the command) click to icon to disconnect. then go to file > properties and change your port. and try again [DC-U shows which ports the modem uses]
