I tried several times fast boot, with Vol-, Menu & Power. Every time the phone started normally, except the last time when the sandbox came and the phone stayed like that for more than 5 minutes. I took the battery out and restarted.
How do I know when I ran Fast boot successfully?
I already have CM9 and Bootloader on it.
Remove battery for 20 secons, place it back.
Then press and hold "Vol -" button. Then, press "Menu" and "Power" buttons. Hold all 3 buttons pressed till sandclock appears on your phone screen (and the phone completely hangs). This will enter to fastboot mode.
Then connect your phone to computer and follow the unlock procedure

Thank you. I've done it, but have to wait until this evening as I'm not in front of the computer with DC-Unlocker installed….
But - in Fast Boot Mode - I can't see any difference to normal boot, is that correct? Phone is working as usual.

No. Phone has to be completely hanged on startup (on Huawei or providers logo or sandclock on screen) when phone is in fastboot.

Yes! After trying at least 30 times I managed to get into Fastboot and successfully unlocked it! Thanks!

Are credits needed for phone recognition?

Hi, I'm trying to unlock an SFR starshine (Huawei U8180). I wanted to be sure that it's recognized before buying credits, but I can't get it dc-unlocker to detect the phone (that's what's keeping me from buying).
            Here's some info:
-winXP, DC-unlocker 1.00.0764, 1.00.0889, 1.00.0913 (none of those versions worked)
-driver Android Sooner Single ABD Interface v. 1.2.1.0 (downloaded from the provided link), phone detected by Hardware manager as "Android phone" -> "Android Sooner Single ABD Interface"
-phone in fastboot mode (vol- button + silver button + power button -> hanging at sandclock)
-open DC-unlocker, set manufacturer as "Huawei phones" and model to autodetect, click on the magnifying glass
            -DC-unlocker output:
            DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0913

            Detecting phone :

            selection :
            manufacturer - Huawei phones
            model - Auto detect (recommended)

            Phone not found !

            ================================================== =================

Does anyone has any idea? The onty thing I can think of is that I need to buy credits even to detect, is that so?
Thanks in advance for all your answers

Seems phone is not in fastboot mode.
              Try to do this:
Remove battery for 20 seconds, place it back. Then press the button combination again (fastboot mode), then connect to other USB port (which is directly to motherboard, without any USB hubs).
Also, try to hold buttons pressed longer. For like 20 seconds or more.

Actually it was... I switched to another PC (Win7 64) and it all worked fine (also, I bought credits and unlocked).
As a note to everyone else that can have the same problem: I had previously installed the Huawei manager (with its own driver), I uninstalled them but I think windows didn't to that properly and that could be the cause... So if you have this kind of problem just try on a PC where you never connected the phone before.

Thanks Gintas for the quick reply!
