Hmm just checked and that page at Huawei was loading painfully slowly ... not sure why.
If its too slow for you, you can find it here too.

Yep, it installed fine but guess what? It couldn't pickup the dongle.
It found it for a few seconds and then it flipped back to "device not connected" or something similar. I tried on a fresh XP machine, tried multiple ports etc.
Perhaps Voda software is region specific? I have read the bands offered in the same modems differ by region. As you know, we use 850 and 2100mhz here for Voda.
I also gave the HUAWEI E173u-1 dashboard from this thread: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1734229 at Whirplool ago but, no go.

Where I am at now, I have reinstalled Fakiro's MP16 which does work and has the advantage of being able to select the frequency of the network, it just cant install the drivers by itself (need to install Voda's dash from the Aust site to get the drivers and then uninstall)

Thanks VERY much for your efforts. I guess I'll just have to wait for someone to solve the K3770/3771 mystery!

          ++++UPDATE++++

          Success!!

I had just about given up, when the very last thing I tried worked right out of the box! Its the MP16 dash here:
http://www.unlocked-dongle.co.uk/Gen...derby=2&page=2 which when I downloaded, I nearly didnt bother trying because its Fakiro's MP16 which doesn't load the drivers buuuuuuut someone must have tinkered with it and added the info for the K3771 and presumably the K3770 too.
It works perfectly, only thing is its not a flash in, just a stand alone. 2_un@ are you up to cooking up one more flashable program from this MP? If you can you will be helping a lot of guys!

          Note on downloading the above:
Their site is painfully slow you really need to use a download manager (Orbit is good) to catch reasonable speeds avoid download restarts etc.

            Hey 2_un@,
I had some time (finally) and just tried that dash, but no goski, can't see the dongle.
Buddy if you want to do something great could you please make that Unlocked Dongle one flashable?

            Here: http://www.unlocked-dongle.co.uk/Gen...derby=2&page=2

It just works and IS the solution for the K3771 and presumably the K3770 that has been driving everyone nuts!

            Cheers!

With the last one I did the same procedure as before. I.E. I first installed Aust Voda 10.2 to acquire the drivers for the flash procedure, then flashed the dongle then started a fresh XP machine with no Mobile Partner or Voda dashes on it and attempted to install from the newly flashed K3771.
The CD part loaded fine and I was able to open it up and run the setup exe, install your modified MP. From there it would not pick up the dongle got the good old "the device had been disconnected" message once MP was set up. So drivers/hardware ID issue?
However! Once I ran the drivers installer package from the Unlocked Dongle MP (pulled the file out the other day) it found the dongle, went though its usual found new hardware routine and all was good. So my conclusion was that the Unlocked Dongle MP (modified Fakiros Voda MP16) works fine as it is and running the drivers installer from it seems to work also. Perhaps it would work with the more recent MP's too?
So if you could see your way to make the Unlocked Dongle MP "flashable" that would totally cover it! (and be much appreciated!)

              Cheers Gordo

                Awesome thanks for the upload!

OK what I meant was both Fakiros's original MP16 and the the one you uploaded work perfectly once I run the drivers from the modified version of Fakiros that they have at Unlocked Dongle. Don't know how or why but that's what happens.
Both on their own fail to pick up the dongle when installed, but that one at Unlocked dongle (somehow modified version of Fakiros MP16) does and the drivers from it if added and run, seem to convert the other two. I always check multiple ports with every install just in case and only try the MP's one at a time on fresh machines.

                Thanks!

By the way, I wish I knew how to make these flash-inable myself so...

                  Chapeau!

                    OK! Reporting back:

                    This works-
                    http://www.mediafire.com/?y9lnoyb691g6s23

It zips onto the stick and then installs perfectly, finds the modem. Great!
To any that come after me and read this, you will need to first install the drivers to "find" the stick for the update. You can do that by either installing the original Voda software and uninstalling it after, or simply pulling the driver files from this one http://www.unlocked-dongle.co.uk/Gen...derby=2&page=2 and running them. You can also just use the above a s a stand alone dash (its the same thing as the flash in version that 2_un@ made.

No luck with the last one though.
One small point of weirdness, when installing from the stick I had to change ports for the software to fully install the drivers but no biggie. The solution is to simply go to the Mobile Partner program files and run the driver installer again. It then finds all ports.

So SUCESSS! And many thanks to you 2_un@!!!
