  • Novatel MC930D missing virtual drive after firmware upgrade

    Hi,
I did manage to upgrade my O2 Novatel MC930D with newest firmware but after that the virtual drive with O2 manager just went missing (it should be replaced with Mobilink) now I can use the modem but to install it somewhere else I will have to install drivers and software form CD or other source. Is there any AT command for this device to activate the virtual drive back ? I did try the upgrade several times and it's been always completed successful but the virtual drive is still gone... Any ideas ?

Usually it does this only if the right drivers and package is already installed. Try to put the modem into another computer... to see if he sees the disk.

no it's definitely not an issue here I did try it with another laptop and the virtual CD doesn't appear as well

Install Mobilink3 software http://panatar.com/20418327_MobiLink3_v3.00.04.003.zip . Run it, insert modem into USB port and wait till Mobilink detects your modem. Goto Menu|Settings and select "Auto-Install". Your settings would be written to modem nvram and inserting your modem next time will start install from Zero-CD.

hello i have tried 3 kind of firmware (3.18.002 AND 2.2.0.0) but the result is the same:RESET ERROR

firmware is 3.18.02 but i can see it into device manager like a modem into my pc. but the light on modem doesn't blink (red or blue) and it can't catch the line (f.e. 3,vodafone and so on)...
                        could you help me?

Then it might be that you damaged your modem when failed to update firmware for the first time.
