When I tried to re-flash the ATT f/w over the generic f/w, I was getting an error with an "unknown string" error message. Someone else reported that too. I had to return my device to ATT for replacement. I'm out in the country, far away from the ATT tower, and I was not getting good d/l speed with the generic f/w (coincidence?). The d/w speed was great near the tower, however. The ATT f/w seems to give me better speed at my location. Other than that, the generic f/w is fine except it does not have the gps and dnla server. Not a big deal. I do not remember if it lets you access the storage card. hope this helps.

      generic 5.25.2 for mifi2372

Where can I get the mifi 2372 generic firmware, even buy it. I flased it by accident with the bell firmware and now only have Hello World as landing page.

If device unlocked by dc-unlocker, firmware update should not lock it back.

The one I have in my MiFi is version 7.11.02.01-11 (AT&T). I downloaded it from the Novatel Wireless website in April. I searched for it on the website last night, but I did not find it (removed?). If you need it, I have it somewhere...

I have managed to accidently install the bell pkg "20419312_MUU_MSM7225_Build_5.28_pkg.zip" I notice that it changed the SSID from MiFi2372 to MiFi45E0 I tried att firmware "20419181_MUU_MSM7225_Arches.ATT_AMSS_7.11.02_Linu x_2.7.0207_2010-02-10_pkg.exe" It showed a check for both model and firmware then when I select next to flash it shows the (Unknown string) error. When I tried the Generic firmware "20418796 MUU MIFI2352 NVTL GENERIC_Pkg.exe" It says the device is not compatible for upgrade. I then click ok and it has an x next to the model and check next to the firmware.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this is a dumb question, but is Hello World what is on the Bell MiFi or is it just messed up because its Bell firmware on an Att device?

May I know if the 5.28 bell firmware supports sms via web? I can only use the sms thru mobilink. I do need this feature as I use it to check my credit/balance via sms. Thanks

Anyone have a source for the generic firmware that will load on a 2372?
                        Find it in this place.

Okay, well here's my addendum as someone with a Bell MiFi.

I tried the generic firmware and found the speeds were worse than Bell. So then I tried the laborious procedure to flash it up to the AT&T firmware. I found the speeds were better than generic but worse than Bell. Moreover I found that both AT&T and generic firmwares detected my SIM as "roaming".

So I tried to flash back to Bell and, of course, got this "Hello World" issue. Then I reflashed generic again, which worked, and flashed Bell back on top. Now I get the generic portal, but some components are upgraded to 5.28. The problem is, it still thinks I'm "roaming". I can enable data roaming but that's risky in terms of costs if I ever get close enough to the Canada/US border.

Does anyone know if there is a *full* Bell MUU out there, whether an older version or whatever else it may be? Or alternately, does anyone know if there's a way to tweak the firmware so that my home network won't be seen as "roaming"? Because now I don't seem to have a way to get completely back to Bell stock firmware.

                            Thanks!

Side note: The silver lining is, this "mutant" Bell/Generic firmware is giving me blistering speeds, with the best upstream speeds of anything I've tried:

                              On Bell firmware: 5673/2781, 6253/2881, 5137/1948, 6321/2989
                              On generic F/W: 4297/2507, 4396/2204, 4829/2645
                              On AT&T F/W: 4919/2463, 3249/2491, 2368/2709, 4804/2707
                              Mutant Gen/Bell: 6317/3262, 6304/3508, 6316/3759

Granted those tests happened over the course of a few hours and there could have been variation. But still impressive for plain old HSPA.

Would you please post the link to the Mutant / Bell firmware? Or explain what exactly you mean by that. It would be really helpful!
