AT&T Mifi 2372 unlock

As far as I can tell, with my limited understanding of the DC Unlocker client and its features, it seems that unlocking it will not assist in keeping AT&T/other providers from suspecting you of SIM-swapping. It appears the DC Unlocker is simply to make a proprietary device work with other service providers (i.e. make an AT&T MiFi 2372 work with a SIM chip from the Rogers company in Canada).

I do not know yet how or even if they really know that a person is using a swapped SIM chip in a different device. If I find something useful, information-wise, I'll post it here or in a new thread. Until then, please keep coming back here and let us all know how your service goes, in case it gives the rest of us an insight into continuing our regular usage of the MiFi devices.

It seems I can't edit my old post, so forgive the double-post.

Two days into using my great new setup and the company shut off the data service. Customer service (over the phone) couldn't see any issues on my account, though I received the following text when the data service was interrupted: "Your data service has been restricted due to SIM swapping with a Data Connect device. Please call ### to discuss available plan options."

Currently in the process of figuring it all out. So! Verdict on this method: It works, but only for a day or two. I have yet to have found how they determine if a Data Connect device uses the SIM, since tethering the week before produced no warning texts or anything, still using a substantial amount of data over a regular PC web browser.

One more thing: I use Peerblock and pay close attention to what is going on with my Internet connectivity. Again, hoping this information is of use (or warning?) to those who may be interested in trying this setup.

Confused and in need of help

Hello, I am new and i am not sure if i am in the right forum but i would like to know if anyone can help me. I just brought an unlocked at&t mifi 2372 (well it is supposed to be unlocked). I am not in the states so i put in a sim card from the country that i am in which uses EDGE and the LED light flashes blue and green.
Can anyone tell me if that means my mifi is not unlocked?
If my mifi is locked can you tell me how to unlock it?
I really need for this to work so i can stay in communication with my children.

Hello. You should try to connect to internet and see if it is working. If it is working with other providers SIM card - means it is unlocked.
If it is not working with other providers SIM card - means it is locked.

Good morning, I have tried to connect. My ipad picks up the wifi from the device but when I try to use the internet it says it can't connect because it is not connect to the internet. It looks like it tries for 2 seconds but that messages pops up about not being connected to the internet.
Is it normal for a locked mifi to look like it is working cause it is picking up the signal of my sim card but just not connect because it is still locked? (Hope you understand my question)

Maybe you did not set the correct providers network connection setings? (APN, username, password, etc.).

Did you set correct providers connection settings? APN, login, password, etc?

thank you very much, Don't know really what I did, used DC-Unlocker, change settings, etc... but is working right now.
Also.....
This unit has 2 previous setting ( profile ) that I want to deleted, and add another profile from a different carrier, so I can used either one of the 2 companies that I can go with.

Very good! It's good to know that when you flash the generic fw directly over the ATT fw, there is no need to unlock. Also good to know you can use a wap.cellular voice/data plan with the Mifi.

I flashed the mifi to the generic firmware but it will not connect with a t-mobile sim card. When connected to mobilink software it says network locked and prompt for the unlock code. Is there any way around this or I would need to get the unlock code from ATT or dc-unlocker?

If device ask for unlock code means you need to unlock it.
Yes, you can unlock it by dc-unlocker.
