ZTE AC 30 (CDMA to GSM) Unlock problems

    ZTE AC 30 (CDMA to GSM) Unlock problems

    Hi all.


    I am having a problem with unlocking the modem.
    I have a ZTE AC 30 modem from 'Smartfren', an Indonesian CDMA provider.
    I have also bought the credit to unlock (7 euro), looked at the video tutorial on how to unlock.

    However, I am stuck at the modem detection step.
    After I inserted the new GSM sim card, connect the modem with the USB cable, turned it on, the default ZTE connection software opens then it will automatically close because it isn't the correct SIM card.

    I switched to DC software, trying to auto detect it, the software will then say this:
    "DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0879

    Detecting card :

    selection :
    manufacturer - ZTE modems
    model - Auto detect (recommended)


    modem not found !"

    I have also tried to asign the COM manually but it is still displaying the same message.


    Can I please have some help?

      If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
      Check, if the drivers are installed
      Check, if the connection software for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
      Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
      Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version.

        The drivers are installed.
        The connection software automatically will close itself because it auto detects an incorrect SIM and modem is not connected to internet.
        I have both tried the autodetect function and the manual function.
        I am using the latest dc-unlocker software 1.00.0879.

          Ac30 unlock

          take out sim. download ZTE ac30 end user update tool. connect modem via usb to usb port after installing update tool. run the update software and then try to detect wit dcu software n let me know what it tells u then i had an ac30 that i had trouble with. worked with it for about a month befor i unlockd it.

            Hi,

            When you say take out sim and download, that is with another internet connecion right? He2..
            Btw i have tried downloading them beforehand, but not quite sure how to update.
            So take out sim. Connect modem via usb-turn on modem?, then with another internet connection look for the update?

              Okay so ive managed to update then unlock my ac30 modem.
              Then i tried restarting the modem and plugged through usb, but the old software connection would open and stuck at displaying "intializing device".

              Anyone have any solutions for me?

                Maybe you have used enable diagnostic port function in dc-unlocker software before detecting it?

                    Does anyone have the mobile hotspot software installation file?
                    I cant seem to setup the new sim card with the exising software that came with the modem.

                        I tried removing the check and i think it worked.

                        Anyway, my modem is still stuck at "Initializing device" when using my default dashboard software from my CDMA provider.
                        Does anyone have a driver for ZTE AC30?
                        This is because when I install a generic ZTE dashboard, it wont install the driver (the driver is only installed IF i install the original dashboard).

                          yes download through another internet access. but first try to do factory default reset by turning on the device then press the power button ten times in a period of 15 secs. then try to detect. if that doesnt work then download zte end user update tool. install software on your comp. then connect modem to comp. and run the update tool it will walk u through the steps. then try to detect let me know how u come out

                            also when tryin to unlock modem do not use original sim. i used an invalid at&t sim. it says on dcu to use invalid sim.

                              first u have to detect device on conn.software. After recognizing device it will configure device then u have to get a valid sim activated, then u should be good to go
