          Hi!
I've got on my b970 a firmware from telenor /hungarian/- looks like MTU firmware- because there is no DDNS function on it.
With telnet I can configure DDNS settings, and it works some weeks, but after it stopped and has to reconfigure again. So is it possible to put vodafone dashboard /with DDNS/ from-http://dc-files.com/files/huawei/routers/B970/-on my b970, but the sim card would stay telenor, and if it possible do I need change my firmware too or dashboard is enough?
          Thank you.

I managed to update the firmware, and now it recognizes all types of sim cards.I can use in modem mode(with mobile partner) with any service provider.(see attached)
Looks like Huawei can restrict the sim cards that the modem recognizes by firmware.
The new problem that I can't use in router mode with any provider(works only in Vodafone):dashboard on the router doesn't allow me to change the connection profile settings in order for me to use B970 in router mode with other service providers.
Is there a way to update the dashboard?
            Thanks in advance.
            I have de same problem.
My router is unlocked, you can only connect as a modem with a USB cable.
When used as a router fails to connect, but shows that the signal is good.
Another detail to note is that only connect on EDGE, HSDPA never take me.
When I put the SIM Card on your orignal mobile device immediately connects HSDPA mode.
I tried with 2 different SIM'S providers and the same thing happened.
            Please help me

              Try this page:http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthre...Router/page33?
Anyway I updated my firmware without dashboard, because I didn't want to change my provider, but with this new firmware you can do it , if you want. I'll write how:
In Dial-up settings at Profile settings in Profile name delete the provider which was write there and write your provider name; at APN stay static and I wrote net /because my provider "called APN as net what".I think the others things no need to change.than OK or Apply. After go back to PPP Settings. Here from Profile list select the one you wrote before /will be at the bottom of the list/ and then /i think the others things no need to change/ OK or Apply and then sim must be good
              Then go back at

How to change the provider with the new firmware:
In the Dial-up settings at Profile settings in the Profile name delete the name is writing there and write your provider name, and at APN in the box write your provider access point name /net at telenor/. The others no need to change. After OK and apply.
After go back to PPP settings where from the Profile list choose the provider you wrote before /the last one will be from the dropp down menu/ I think the others no need to change. After OK and apply.
And now should work the new sim as a router.

Hi thanks for the contribution, and my router works fine and does not change the firmware.
Now I have another problem, there is no way to detect 3G, connection mode constantly in EDGE.

There is some Incompatibility between 3G in Spain and that of Venezuela?

I use it with external antenna, but with the vodafone firmware if you go in the main menu /192.168.1.1/ you should see what kind of connection you have and how strong; for example -0.94db is good. Anyway try to take off your sim card and put it into an 3G capable phone and check if it has 3G strength.

The problem is not signal strength, when I put the sim in the original device immediately connects with good 3G reception, it seems internal of the router

Try a softreset and check connection settings or use the firmware which is on http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthre...Router/page35?
