Huawei CDMA modems doesn't work with sim cards, you need to use r-uim card with it. If there is a slot for the card, most likely that it is under the case, which should be removable.

Yes, you should update it with firmware updater from support area website before performing unlock.

Huawei cdma modems won't work with gms sim cards as they are working only with r-uim type of cards.

I m using r-uim cdma sim.. I just downloaded another mobile partner from ur given link.. and I used my data card in that and I tried to apply pin no. lock on that to check that sim is working or not.. data card accepted that sim lock.. and then I used that sim with my phone and it was asking for pin no.. that means data cad is reading r-uim now...
But finally main problem is that why am I not getting network in that.. I have tried r-uim from different network providers.. but Device is showing no network in all uim.. what to do dear friend??:

Have you set correct settings? Maybe network is manually selected?
